When I post about a good android application it is followed with a QRV code (or picture with dots) for download.
If you are not familiar with this, all you need to do is open an application like Barcode Scanner on your android device and point to the image. Barcode Scanner will automatically decode the image as a link to the market where the application can be downloaded. If you do not have Barcode Scanner already installed, you can grab it for free from the Android market.
2 new applications for you Droid users this week, when combined are pretty cool.
The first is WOL Wake on LAN and WAN. When setup, it will allow you to turn on your desktop machine remotely. Getting your router and desktop setup correctly can be a challenge, but the end result is worth it.
WOL Wake on LAN WAN can be downloaded from here:
The second app is Pocket Cloud. Pocket Cloud is an android remote desktop client which supports both RDP and VNC. It’s amazing how well it works to start or restart applications on my desktop remotely. (I’m not sure if I would want to do work on my desktop this way, but it is possible.)
I just picked my new ski boots. Same shell I’ve been skiing for 20 years.
Reborn from the original Raichle molds by Full Tilt, they are amazing.
I got a great deal from Suburban Sports in Berlin, Ct. Nice folks. No high pressure.
