Anyone checked out the new license free MURS band?

Lots of possibilities. Even remote driveway entry sensing.

I just setup a base station with a 5/8 over 5/8 collinear antenna at 60 feet.

Antenna range testing being conducted now. Seems pretty good so far.
Range base to handheld easy to 4 miles.

so you're get what? 6dB?
I believe you have a legal max of 20 ft.

Wacha gonna use it for?

Using it for fun....I had most of the stuff cept for the antenna.
The highest point of any MURS antenna must no be more than 18.3 meters (60 feet) above the ground or 6.10 meters (20 feet) above the highest point of the structure on which it is mounted. It is mounted on my tower at 60 feet. (Well below the top)

And a lot of other stuff.

I think that is a result of living too close to the salt water.
