Looks like we won't be bothering with a landline in our new home which is wired for residential phone service.
It's becoming a PIA yelling for each other because the place is pretty big.
Anyone know of an intercom system that uses RJ-11 jacks/plugs?
I don't want carrier line systems that could interfere with X-10.
Thought I'd check before Googling.
TIA

Intercom using telco wiring?

Actually, I guess I really mean to ask is there any downside to using existing telco wiring for an intercom.
I already have whole-house audio so that's not a concern with the 22 gauge (?) unshielded wiring.
Just need 2-way broadcast to all rooms; no zoning.

You could always buy a set of 4-5 wireless phones and just not hood to the outside world. We have a set of 4 that we picked up for like 60 bucks. We hardly use landlines anymore and more than not use the intercom feature that they have.
I don't need no stinkin' signature
