Some of you may recall I spent a LOT of work creating interactive maps for Gladwyne, PA and Kiawah Is, SC.
Here's one of the 2 Kiawah maps. http://www.kiawahstyle.com/map.html
Anyway, Google has simplified this a lot! Google Maps>My Maps.
Here's the help page.
http://maps.google.com/support/bin/answer....68480#placemark
It only took seconds for me to put a marker with text and a pic where I wanted it and to draw a line on 2 streets to show how to get there.
Then, I clicked the KML link which created and D/L'd a Google Earth link for the object I made.

Shawn, trail maps?

Your on to me doctor Jay.

Actually, I use a Garmin GPS60Csx and have fiddled with putting up waypoints using Google maps. Looks like it just got easier.

I know some guys use an extra piece of software with their digital cameras and GPS then use Google maps to upload markers of the exact location each photo was taken.

Anyway, lots of cool things to be done with it.........

Right. We've been able to do it for several years, but it's been tedious until now.

Maybe it is because I am using Google Earth.

Oh, is that what you meant by your question above?

BTW, you don't need to create the Google Earth link as I mentioned above. You can see your handiwork on Google Maps. It's a nice touch though. Google Earth can have better satellite/hybrid views than Maps depending on your target.
