Hi all,

I have just put together a nice asp page that sends an e-mail vocal message to acknowledge when a message is left in my guestbook.
It works great using the english or the french voice depending of the language of the visitor.
I imagined it will be funny to have "zee french accent" for my english-speaking vistors, so I wrote a special message to be read in english with my french voice.

I would like to know if this can be understand, at least as bad as I can be understood myself.

The message is attached. as a zip, since Wav are not accepted

Thank you to let me know!

Pierre

The first half is difficult to understand with my default female voice. I'll try some others.

Jay, it is a wav file, you cannot use a voice to play it!

Your answer is quite enough for me, and I will stick with normal english TTS for english users.

Thanks
Pierre

Bonjour Pierre

I had to listen a couple of times before I could know for sure what she was saying, but it was pretty obvious for most of it after I listened harder.

Well, that was what I was fearing about ...you guys should know that I understand it PERFECTLY .... wink.gif

Seriously, I believe that the voice has problems with unknown words and that gives a choppy speak.

For the fun here is the text:
Sainke you fore your message in maille guestbouke.<silence msec="500"/> Pliz, lett mi nauou, wherfrom dou you nauou the e-maison saillts?<silence msec="500"/>Fil fri to visite mi againe sometaillmes. <silence msec="1000"/> Aille will bi glad to welcome you back véry soun.

Did anyone see the BBC classic "Allo allo"?

It sounds like the undercover policeman - Crabtree (he was a brit hiding from the germans and speaking french very badly)
