What compositor platform do you use?
What are you using for the green screen?
Thanks

Hi Jay

The programme I use is called Ultra 2 from what was Serious Magic - sadly now part of Adobe and sold as part of the CS3 Suite

The green screen itself is a proper 10ft x 24ft chromakey backdrop which I have since bought some Strand Iris 1 cyclorama floodlights to light the backdrop with from above and slightly in front.

You take your footage into Ultra and key it in there.

You then render out the finished avi or other file format you want to use and place it into your edit programme in the way you would any other video clip for editing.

OK, so ultra 2 has the compositor function. Is this a simple 'select background and composite footage' function?
I found some free virtual studio sets I'd like to play with.
I'll look for a free compositor/editor to play with both.

Thanks

Yes, you select the foreground, the background and any inserts and have various controls to adjust the key, add shadows, crop the keyed image (if for instance you do not have a green background as wide as the background - you can clip it)

Most decent non linear editors will have a key feature.

Great. I found a free T@B ZS4 that appears to do compositing. Now, where did I stash that green blanket?
