AKA Chromakey does Dallas! smile.gif

In May this year, it has been proposed that a journey be made from the East coast USA to the West coast USA with one of the UK's most prolific podcasters.

He wants to document the journey on camera and turn it into a documentary.

Its just possible I may be the cameraman.

This is all going to be on a budget.

He wants to meet up with people and talk to them to be included on his shows.

Have any of you USA forum members got any suggestions of places to go, and also ideas of where we can stay (cheaply but cleanly) etc?

The trip will only be about two weeks and so there is a lot to cram in - I have a friend up in Minnesotta who works at a tv station there and I also have relatives in Berkeley near San Francisco so they may well be on the places to visit, but any other suggestions would be great! - we may well drive as well as plane and train.

Everything at the moment is just in bare bones so there is lots to plan!

Thanks all

Thanks Derek - I will pass those suggestions on!

I like the diamond searching one, but I think he may have a trip into a desert planned for the West coast....

Stop off in Omaha, NE, dead center of the US. I80 runs through it, we have a train depot, and a very accessible airport. We are the home of the 2nd richest man in the world (Buffet), have the worlds largest furniture store (also electronics/appliance store and also Buffet owned), the worlds largest independant jewelry store (also buffet owned), and one of the best zoo's in the country. Depending upon when you come around, we also have the College world series which is quite a good time...

Its also pretty cheap here. Hotels aren't too expensive (unless you come during the College world series or Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting)...

Would be willing to host/show you around!

Thanks for those suggestions, and the offer to show us around should this come to anything - I will pass on these details!

When exactly is the world series and Berkshire Hathaway meeting?

Jayfro. Warren's a pretty down-to-earth guy. I wouldn't be suprized if he's agree to an interview. He'd research the heck out of CK's blogger before agreeing though.

In fact, CK - point us to his blogsphere.

Richard has two podcasts - one is his "radio show" and that can be found at Richard Vobes Podcasts and the other is his personal "raw thoughts/experiences" Naked Englishman

Having sampled both, It's not going to work. Warren is 75? and avoided the dot com boom.

Jayfro?
