ive never understood bass shakers. They must be good since they are made by high end audio companies and sold for mucho money. I get plenty of SHAKE from my 12 inch sub (at home.. not car). I used to have the boomin stereo in my ride when I had my lowered rice burner truck, but no more...

This one's mostly for Ski since he's not avail via EB at the mo. and we've been discussing this - anyone jump in tho.
Got a 13.8VDC PS and hooked it up to the auto amp. Connected a good spkr and portable music player. Sounds really good.
Now, does this look like the spkrs are floating a la current vehicle standards?
Obviously, ~7 below, is 1/2 the supply voltage.
~7VDC amp chassis to speaker + and -.
~7VDC from negative supply to spkr + and spkr -.
~7VDC from positive supply to spkr + and spkr -.
~5mVDC from audio input ground side to amp chassis. It appears physically isloated from the amp chassis.
So, what's the bottom line on connecting the amp inputs to my in-dash rcvr's subwoofer outputs w/respect to bolting the amp on the Jeep's chassis?
I don't see a reason to mount the woofers to the Jeep chassis because they'll need enclosures anyway.
On the surface, it looks OK to me.

The OUTPUT of just about any power amp made is going to be floating ground. (AS yours obviously is)
Yes, but you were pretty sure that RS auto amps' spkr - and chassis ground were at the same potential. My measurement show they're not.
Or have we done it yet again?
I just want to know whether it's 'floating' in your parlance - is it OK to bolt it to the car chassis. It seems so.

Well yes, the short of it is that I can bolt this to the vehicle's floor as thought.
One big shortcoming of IMing rather than A/V to communicate is that long, typed responses can get lost above the visible chat window - unless you think to scroll up.
I suppose I'll use EB's full capabilities now.

If the damn thing will stop trying to reconfigure A/V devices.
Don't you go telling me to follow your directions to alleviate that. BTDT.
Don't go telling me to reformat again.
I inherited this PC from my son and of course he lost the XP disk.
And, I don't want to tie you up when you're in support mode. All I can tell is when you're on the phone. I know you have a lot of emails and forum issues to deal with.
