Nanc has informed me that we both need to go on a 6-7K mile round trip before the end of the year to retain our current status with US Airways.

We're east coast US. Any suggestions?

TIA

Good suggestions.

Well...

Ski - cruise? US Airways doesn't operate flying boats to my knowledge.
However, Alaska is fantastic! Did the Inland Passage thing in '93. Love to post & link it but it's several GBs. Awesome. I could check with my host master if anyone is interested.

Interesting suggestion. Not Argentina but a Chiliean Pantagonian fly fishing trip has been on my list. Will bounce that off her.

Oz? I already live there.

CK. I have zero interest in the orient. Nanc does biz in Singapore and Hong Kong. I never join her.

Thanks.

How about Spain, Costa del Sol (sp). Beaches by Gibraltar (the Rock). You can take a high speed boat to N. Africa. (it gives you a different perspective)

Brugges, Belgium is great and the beer can not be beat. Great Romantic place. It is called the Venice of North Europe.

I do not thank either trip will get you the milage but they are great places to visit.

Thanks all. Those are round trip numbers so Europa should be EZ.

Belgium sounds good, been to Spain a bunch.

I pass out on airplanes afer around 12-13 hours (w/o booze). I can baerly make it to Greece. Austrailia and NZ are out of the question with subsonic aircraft. Might cruise there at some point. I lived in the air when I worked for Tandy-now RadioShack and developed airplane claustraphobia (sp?).

Ski, you didn't like Prauge? I hear it's the most beautiful city in Europe and an art captial which is appealing.

On one hand it's not that important where we go, just need to spend miles. On the other hand, it would be stupid to spend the money and just turn around.

Europe; been to: England, Wales, Ireland (freestate), Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Hungary, Russia, France, Austria (passed by the Czech Republic on the Danube on the way to Hungry but never visited).

Have a friend who's a nephew of (deceased) Princess Grace of Monoco and has a biz there but I don't think there's anything to do but play the tables?

Guys, I really do appreciate the input!
Any more will be greatfully received smile.gif

Was thinking of a European Christmas until the mail arrived today. Federal Court jury duty on Dec. 26 dry.gif

I was young at the time.

Pilzen was nice.. smile.gif
Costa del Sol was real nice as was Morocco. Nothing like riding the Marrakesh Express.

I'd consider Belgium or Holland too.

What about Iceland?

Iceland's been on my list for a long time. But I think it's too close.

Nanc is going to give me the exact mileage we need. That'll help a lot.

Of course, there's South America.

OK - how about Sweden?

Its an expensive place, but a lot of culture - Stockholm has some fascinating old buildings and an old Viking warship that has been preserved called the Vasa - its in very good condition too!

It's fall. I've become a fair weather traveler biggrin.gif

Before we saw the light (money hemmoraging from maintaining our 2 Saabs), we were thinking about Sweden and were going to visit the factory.

Maybe in warmer wx.

I have a Swedish friend from college (I should search for him) whose Dad owned the Swedish GM franchise. He lived south in a place called (phoneticizing from memory), Oskarsham - I think.

Hey, we can just live off of your generousity for a week or two CK. Then bother Jon and TrOjan wink.gif

Just a note of interest (to me anyway). Ever notice the 4 most northern capitols; Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki and St. Pete are almost at the identical latitude?

Only been to St. Pete.

Ha, we need 25K miles between us to qualify. Jeeze Nanc - see what you started wink.gif

We'll play catch-up next year - just not enough time for all that travel.

Meanwhile, were you guys aware of the fierce competion among hotel chains?

We didn't even know that we part of the frequent (whatever) Hilton program. One of us had a visit to a Hilton this year and now they want to fly and ply us in Vegas for a week blink.gif We're still not sure which of us it was.

We're going. Guys, check your trips for rewards.

Of course, Paris may have a crush on me...
