Bill had to put his dog down yesterday, after a short illness.
I just wanted to say that I know how terribly bad it feels to loose a pet, and that I only have sympathy for you and your family. I was hardly able to sleep last night thinking about it.
Now back to your regular scheduled Skibum.

Thats sad - I don't know what we would do without our two now - and especially afer Pixel was so ill recently.
Its better than lingering on though - pity humans cant have the same respect offered to them!
They get to be such a close part of your family!!

Thanks guys. Last night was pretty rough for me. I'm Irish, the dog's Irish ( well from a small island off Scottland called Sheltie) so I decided to do an Irish wake. Got pretty shitfaced last night. Woke up to seriously sore knuckles this morn. Just came into computer room tonight and saw why. Lots of holes in walls. Thank goodness the walls weren't finished.
It was kinda ruff being the one saying" Yes I'm sure....give her the shot" She died in my arms. I have to say the vet was VERY kind though. They gave her a heavy sedative first, just to relax her. They left me alone for quite awhile with her. I said my goodbyes and told her that all my passed on relatives would definately play ball with her the way I did. One of her greatest pleasures was after I finished a can of beer she would nose the empty can all over the place. I promised her that there was plenty of beer cans once she found my relatives.
I even snuck in a little message for my grandma....just incase dogs can talk in heaven too! Who knows...
Damn. getting choked up again.....
OK. OK. I promise to be my normal biligerant, drunken self again real soon.

BTW. I got her on St Patty's day 6 years ago. Really. Which is why I named her Patty.
Fretty damn coincindental that she made it JUST past that holiday again.
She had a stroke on Sunday.... It was coming on for several weeks. Had her tested to the hilt then, but they could find no real problem. Imagine that. When I came home yest I decided that it was time to let her go. She couldn't even move, she was in same spot where I left her when I left for work. Bodily fluids and all.
Anyways.....I knew it was coming and the night before I gave her ice cream and beer. SHE LOVED IT.
