• location: south coastal south carolina and north coastal georgia.
• coastal flooding: persistent onshore winds and lingering influences from the recent new moon will combine to produce significant coastal flooding with high tide this evening. Tide levels are expected to reach 7.9 to 8.3 feet mean lower low water in the charleston harbor and 9.8 to 10.1 feet mean lower low water at fort pulaski. These levels typically produce significant coastal flooding.
• timing: high tide will occur in the charleston harbor at 1008 pm, 1119 pm in the beaufort river near beaufort and 1010 pm at the mouth of the savannah river.
• south carolina impacts: some docks and low non floating piers will become inundated. Significant salt water flooding will occur in portions of downtown charleston with water covering portions of lee street, america street, cooper street, south street, drake street, north market, barre street, hagwood street, fishburne street as well as others. Water will approach homes on drake street, water street, atlantic street, aiken street, south street, lee street, america street, morrison rive and jackson street. Portions of long point road may flood in mount pleasant along with minor flooding along parts of twelfth and twenty fifth streets on isle of palms. Juneau avenue will become impassible and isolate the cooper river marina. Flooding will occur along back bay creek at edisto beach. Water could will approach several roadways and camp grounds in hunting island state park which may require some campers to be moved. In the beaufort and ladys island area, water could flood parts of the sea island parkway near the chowan creek bridge.
• georgia impacts: some docks and low non floating piers will become inundated. Water will likely inundate portions of highway 80 near the bull river and between wilmington island and tybee island, which may result in a road closure. High water could also flood portions of mechanic avenue in thunderbolt. In the rabbit hill community, water may breach docks and bulkheads on warnell drive near fort mcallister and water could cover portions of mill hill road. Some backyards in the planting hammock neighborhood could flood in halfmoon landing and water will likely flood several roads on the southern portion of sapelo island including beach road. Some flooding around the darien area will also occur.
